What I have done…
I was born more ot less into tourism: my father and mother coming from the aviation industry and we had an own travel agency in the house. Nevertheless, I wanted to pursue my passion of writing and studied German language and literature, cultural anthropology and business administration at Frankfurt’s Goethe University. Internships in both journalism and tourism in Germany and Florida quickly brought me “back to the roots” of the travel industry. The optimal combination of creative writing and travel was finally offered to me in tourism marketing, where I worked for various destinations, cruise and rental car companies. The longest was for a Florida destination for almost 30 years!
What I do now…
Since April 2022 I support the destinations Indonesia, Tenerife as well as the resort Albena and I am more than happy to help out at the Florida destinations with my Florida expertise.
What I do for fun…
My heart beats for Rock ‘n’ Roll and Boogie Woogie: both practicing with active dancing and everything that has to do with the 50s/60s like the vintage cars, the fashion or the music. But I also like to change my petticoat and pumps for hiking and running shoes to do long walks with my dog and family. Family plays a big role for me and we are lucky that three generations all live close to each other. That leaves little time for a quiet hour with a good book in the garden, but I also try to indulge this passion as often as possible.
What I bring to GCE…
Over many years I was able to gain experience in tourism marketing. My curiosity for everything new to discover in other countries is still unbroken. This also applies to the joy of expressing my enthusiasm for destinations and other tourist attractions in speech and writing and to make others love them as I do.
