What I have done…

As a teenager the documentary series “Länder, Menschen, Abenteuer” (Countries, People, Adventures) always fascinated me and contributed to my choosing a career combining writing and travelling. During work experience, while studying German Philology and Communication Sciences, I learned journalism skills and later worked for press agencies, publishing houses, radio and TV stations. Following this for over 10 years I travelled the world as a freelance photographer and travel writer, and wrote travel features for TV and radio as well as working on book projects. I decided the time was right to settle back in Germany and for the past 17 years I have been managing press and public relations for international hospitality brands, cruise companies and destinations while working for leading German tourism PR agencies.

What I do now…

As Senior Account Manager I am responsible for destination clients such as Turismo de Tenerife, Fort Myers – Islands, Beaches & Neighborhoods, Greater Miami and the Beaches, the Southern Wine Route and Spiekeroog, the luxury hotels The Retreat at Blue Lagoon Iceland and Hotel Botánico & The Oriental Spa Garden on Tenerife as well as the Greek cruise company Celestyal Cruises.

What I do for fun…

My work and private life merge seamlessly. I am surrounded by interesting people, I learn new things about countries, people and adventures, and I am often travelling. I love to experience the world with all my senses from the closest countries to the furthest, and to meet many kinds of people, especially those who are as energetic and enthusiastic as I am.

What I bring to GCE…

Due to my previous experience, I am able to combine PR know-how with journalist skills and I possess a goal-oriented marketing philosophy. I have excellent communication skills, a thirst for knowledge, an interest in my subject, and empathy. This blend enables me to easily identify strong story angles and encourage others to be enthused by my stories.
