At an altitude of 1,800 meters, directly facing the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Dolomites, the South Tyrolean hideaway FORESTIS is located on Mount Plose above Brixen. With 62 suites and a nearly 2,000 m² spa, it has built an international reputation since its opening in summer 2020 and is now considered one of the leading retreats in the Alpine region. At the end of 2024, the FORESTIS Villa was added. Like the historic main building, it was designed by architect Otto Wagner – originally intended as a residence for the doctor of the planned sanatorium, but never used in this function. In 2022, owners Teresa and Stefan Hinteregger decided to revitalize the villa. In close coordination with heritage conservation and environmental protection, South Tyrolean FORESTIS architect Armin Sader developed a concept that honors both the history of the building and its unique location. The villa is available exclusively for private rental and accommodates up to ten guests. With the beginning of spring 2025, the restaurant YERA opened opposite FORESTIS, built into the mountain. Executive Chef Roland Lamprecht and his team elevate forest and nature cuisine to a new level here.
